Many have planned for retirement, but they have not considered the journey of aging well. While financial planning is a big part of retiring, it is not the same as planning for those elderly years. It’s great and highly suggested that you plan financially, however, there comes a time in a person’s life where the day in and day out routines of life become very difficult, taxing and has the possibility of emotionally separating families.

Phyllis will be sharing how to navigate through the elderly years of personal care. She will be giving examples and solutions on how to help you or your love one to have total peace of mind at each stage of the journey.

In this presentation you will be provided with life tools to know how to:

1. Determine when do you need to access the daily activity needs of your elderly love one?

2. What are your options in searching for the right solution?

3. How do you find a Caregiver that you can trust?

4. How do you navigate down this journey of Aging Well?

Spiritual Growth/Self Reflection: (3:00-3:30pm)

Dr. Dan Critchett Host of The National Radio Show, “Second Half Now”, a show for Boomers and Beyonders that is broadcasted in over 400 cities across the U.S.A.. This talk show tackles the question, “Are we living a life that matters”? Dr. Dan Critchett is committed to the health and happiness of America’s Baby Boomers. There are seventy six million of us, and we want to have a measure of purpose and meaning in our lives. There is a deep need inside each of us to make a difference in some way, and to live out our potential. This talk will focus on Home and Family, Health and Wellness, Budget and Finances, Heart and Soul and finally Work and Purpose..

Aging in Place/Creating an Accessible Home: (3:35 3:55)

Christine Bowdish owner of Elite Lifestyle Service and (CAPS)Certified Aging In Place Specialist: "There is no place like home! Whether your needs are temporary, progressive or permanent, all of us desire to remain in our homes until the end. Yes, it is possible in most cases. Christine will touch on a few simple solutions to create an accessible space that ensures safety, function & style into your home."

When the decision is made to downsize or move to accommodate mobility issues, it can sometimes become overwhelming. Successful aging in place is a process of taking stock of current & future needs, thinking through options, evaluating the home & the community then developing strategies for continued independence.

Alzheimer/Dementia Awareness: (4:00-4:40pm)

William Cohen, CEO of Cohen Caregiving Support Consultants LLC.. Do you know or have you cared for someone with Alzheimer's disease? Imagine if you could know in advance every step to plan for on your caregiving journey with your loved one. And if someone who has experienced everything you are or will be going through is there every step of the way with you. Wouldn't that make things easier for you? What if someone could help you, or your client, minimize the stress and costs of caregiving? Bill shares his own touching story and personal experiences from caring for his late mother, Sheila. He brings a personal interactive approach in helping each individual with their own care issues and situations.

Accessing Equity for Quality of Life: (4:45-5:20)

Rachel Mohlere of Nextview Loans: She has worked over a decade focusing on the ins and outs of the transitions older adults confront as bodies, roles, and communities change – and whether to stay in one’s home or find an alternative comes to the front. In response to her studies of economic and social changes, Rachel opted to step from the role of Senior’s Real Estate Specialist, to Home Equity Conversion Mortgage specialist. She joins a team with great depth in the industry. Come learn about these tools for accessing your equity; who’s using them with great results and how to explore this option for yourself or a loved one.

Adult Placement Network has been helping families for the past 20 years through the challenging process of finding the most appropriate care setting for a loved one who is no longer able to live safely at home. We will walk you through all the different options, the cost, the amenities and what they offer for services. You will learn about placement and referral agencies and how they can help at no cost to you. Please join us; we would love to meet you! And come see us at booth #59. We have a drawing for an evening on the town!

Let’s Share Housing

(6:00-6:25) Live Better Together

Boomers are all about redefining what it means to age resourcefully. Let’s Share Housing began in 2009 with the idea that we needed innovative and affordable alternatives for aging in place. Instead of building more retirement and assisted living communities, why not use what’s already here? By providing a platform where homeowners can find compatible housemates, Let’s Share Housing has created a whole new model for aging affordably. Come learn about the benefits, who does it and how to connect with one another both online and face-to-face. Rather than work ‘til you drop or live with your kids, join us, find your tribe, pool your resources and thrive! Michele Fiasca, founder of Let’s Share Housing will be the presenter. Then come visit us at booth #70 where you can meet some of the folks involved and sign up on the website for no cost. We would love to meet you! We also have a drawing
